The Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) signed here today with the United Nations Office for Projects Service an agreement to fund a project of improving educational atmosphere through providing sources of renewable and sustainable solar energy in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in Pakistan. The agreement was co-signed by Fawzi Alian Al-Saud, Director of SFD Operation Administration, and Minister of Education of the regional government Atef Khan in presence of Saudi ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Malki and a number of Pakistani senior officials. The agreement grants $4.3 million to fund the project which represented %50 of the project value. In a statement, the Minister of Education in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa thanked the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for this generous grant which reflects strong and fraternal relations between the two countries. He affirmed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is the greatest supporter for development in Pakistan, pointing out that the Saudi Fund for Development implmented a number of projects in Pakistan in the fields of education, health, roads and recostraction od areas affected by floods and terrorism. For his part, Amabssador Al-Malki stressed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia pays great attention to its relations with Pakistan and seeks to support its economy and stability.
