Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas. Al-Riyadh and Okaz newspapers commented in their editorials on culture, citing the speech of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to the guests of the Janadriyah Festival, in which the King put emphasis on the cultural diversity of knowledge leading to the mutual understanding between different cultures as a track paving for peace and co-existence supposed to be among nations, noting that he stressed that this diversity shall be basically an important factor in building, not demolishing, and that talking about the clashes of civilizations or cultures leads to widening the gap between nations and to growing differences towards the crises being witnessed by our world today and the past. On another subject, Al-Yaum newspaper said in its editorial entitled "The Kingdom's Efforts to Maintain Security and Peace'' that since the establishment of this glorious entity by late King Abdulaziz bin Abdul Rahman and during past reigns and the present prosperous era under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Kingdom has been supporting the international peace and security through relevant international organizations to perform their roles in this regard and working to resolve outstanding crises all over the world The paper pointed out that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia had called for dialogue between followers of religions and cultures as a way to achieve peace and security in the world and promote the foundations of understanding and harmony between religions and cultures, and consequently eliminate the phenomenon of terrorism and extremism.
