The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has affirmed its full participation and cooperation in supporting all efforts that aim at enhancing the role of young people in achieving the goals of sustainable development and promoting international peace and security, in addition to supporting the efforts that aim at paying great attention to protecting the young people from extremism. This came in a speech delivered by Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations Ambassador Abdullah bin Yahya Al-Muallami in an expert meeting held at the United Nations in commemoration of World Interfaith Harmony Week 2018, which was organized by King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Center for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue (KAICIID). "The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has been making tremendous efforts to achieve the goals of peace and security in the world, and to promote the foundations of good understanding and harmony among religions and cultures," Ambassador Al-Muallami said, stressing that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is constantly working on disseminating a culture of tolerance and mutual respect in order to counter the ideologies of hatred and extremism, in addition to its efforts in maintaining peace and promoting security and stability throughout the world. Ambassador Al-Muallami pointed out that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is currently working on implementing its '2030 Vision' that aims at building an ambitious nation based on the young people who represent 70% of the Kingdom's population.
