Minister of Labor and Social Development Dr. Ali bin Nasser Al-Ghafees issued a ministerial decision restricting work in outlets of 12 activities and occupations to Saudis starting from the beginning of the next Hijri year in order to enable citizens to work and raise their participation rates in the private sector. The official spokesman of the ministry Khalid Abaakhel said that the activities that are scheduled to be restricted to Saudis include the outlets in watch shops, the outlets of eyeglasses stores, the outlets in the medical equipment stores, the outlets in the electrical and electronics shops, the outlets in the shops of the car parts, the outlets in the shops of building materials, the outlets in the shops of all types of carpets, the outlets in the shops of cars and motorcycles, the outlets in the shops of home furniture and ready-made offices, sale outlets of ready-made clothes and children clothes and men supplies, outlets in the stores of household utensils and outlets in the pastry shops. He pointed out that the ministerial decision affirmed that the decisions of feminization should be observed in respect of the activities and shops that have been decided upon by feminization, pointing out that this decision does not conflict with the decisions to Saudize the activities according to memorandums of understanding with the emirates of the regions signed and according to the dates stated therein.
