The meetings of the committees of the Saudi-Iraqi Coordination Council were held here today under the chairmanship of Minister of Commerce and Investment Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qassabi, in participation of Iraqi Acting Minister of Planning and Commerce, Chairman of the Iraqi side at Saudi-Iraqi Coordination Council Dr. Salman Al-Jumaili, in presence of senior officials from Saudi-Iraqi Coordination Council. For his part, the Saudi Minister of Commerce and Investment affirmed that the strong ties and neighborliness have unified the Saudi and Iraqi peoples in addition to agreements between the Kingdom and Iraq improving relations and enhancing the trade and investment cooperation in the interest of the two peoples. During the meeting, they discussed an executive plan of to promote intra-trade and investment opportunities between the two countries and address the challenges through joint teams working continuously to overcome difficulties. The two sides co-signed a minutes of the 1st meeting of the Saudi-Iraqi Coordination Council and approved mechanism and governance of the council's committees. The two sides also signed agreements in the field of customs cooperation between the two countries and establishment of Arar border crossing on the sidelines of the committees' meetings of the Saudi-Iraqi Coordination Council.
