Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Dr. Youssef Al Othaimeen received here today Ambassador Omar Gibril Salah the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Gambia to the OIC who was at the OIC General Secretariat to deliver a letter from the Gambian Foreign Minister on the preparations for hosting the next OIC Summit scheduled for early 2019 in Banjul. During the meeting, Dr. Al-Othaimeen and his guest discussed the level of preparations and they agreed that officials from the two sides would work closely in the successful organization of the Summit. They also discussed other regional issues and the threat being posed by terrorism. Both sides renewed their commitment to further strengthen OIC-Gambia bilateral relations. The Secretary General expressed his appreciation to the Government of Gambia for offering to host the Summit and for its continued support to the work of the OIC. He assured the Gambian official of the full support of the OIC General Secretariat in the organization of the Summit.
