Yemeni Foreign Minister Abdulmalik Al-Mekhlafi met today with U.S. ambassador to Yemen Matthew Tueller. The two sides discussed, during the meeting, the developments at the Yemeni arena, particularly the latest developments in Sanaa. Al-Mekhlafi demanded that the world community condemns the assassination of Yemen's former president committed by the Houthi militias, and underscored the importance of sending a strong message to them to stop the current surge of arrests, killings and terrifying of politicians and citizens alike in Sanaa and other Yemeni provinces which they control, warning from the repercussions of the international silence towards the criminal practices and atrocities being committed by the Houthi militias against the Yemeni people. For his part, the U.S. ambassador expressed condemnation of the Houthi practices against the Yemeni people, confirming the commitment of his country in support of the legitimate government, provision of political, economic and humanitarian support for the Yemeni people to get them out of this calamity and restore security and stability to Yemen.
