Most Asian markets rose Monday, AP reported. Tokyo's Nikkei 225 index lost under 0.1 percent to 22,002.40 and the Shanghai Composite Index declined 0.8 percent to 3,390.67. Hong Kong's Hang Seng was nearly flat at 28,431.35 and Sydney's S&P-ASX 200 advanced 0.3 percent to 5,919.10. Seoul's Kospi gained 0.1 percent to 2,499.25 and India's Sensex rose 0.4 percent to 33,277.32. Benchmarks in New Zealand, and Jakarta also rose while Singapore and Bangkok declined. Benchmark U.S. crude was flat at $53.90 per barrel in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange. The contract soared $1.26 on Friday to close at $53.90. Brent crude, used to price international oils, lost 4 cents to $60.09 in London. It jumped $1.09 the previous session to $60.13. The dollar edged down to 113.63 yen from Friday's 113.68 yen. The euro rose to $1.1619 from $1.1609.
