Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas. "Al-Riyadh" newspaper wrote under the title "Russian appreciation for the Kingdom'', saying the important speech of Russian President Vladimir Putin on the visit of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to Moscow confirms the status of the Kingdom at the global level due to its balanced policy in addition to its important role in addressing many crises in the region. The newspaper noted that the Kingdom has been the most important Middle Eastern country with its political and economic weight and status as the heart of the Islamic world has expanded its relations with the major powers and begun to reap the benefits of its foreign policy based on mutual interests and respect, and will earn more due to the stability of its balanced policy and active positions on various regional and international issues and its support for the achievement of international peace and security. Okaz newspaper commented in its editorial entitled "Women and the New Kingdom of Saudi Arabia", reporting that women have had strong and different presence in the new era of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and have been given more confidence by the state and the society by nominating them for holding senior positions in the government, indicating that the government has allowed them to be nominated for municipal elections, appointed 30 women with 20 per cent out 130 members of the Shura Council in 2013 and yesterday, some governorates' councils founded women's seats as advisers, in addition to the successes being achieved by businesswomen with their creative ideas at both domestic and international arenas.
