Dr. Ali bin Nasser Al-Ghafis, Minister of Labor and Social Development, and Indonesia's Minister of Manpower and Transmigration Mohammed Hanif Dhakiri signed here today a protocol agreement on the recruitment of Indonesian domestic workers. During the meeting, the two ministers discussed ways of enhancing joint cooperation between the two friendly countries in the field of labor and ways of developing mechanisms. For their part, the Indonesian delegation expressed appreciation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its policies and initiatives in the field of organizing recruitment of expatriates and their protection. The Saudi side briefed the Indonesian delegation on the steps and initiatives taken by the Saudi Ministry of Labor and Social Development in developing the recruitment and tackling the challenges. The two sides agreed on a linkage of recruitment procedures through the electronic system (Musaned), which effectively ensures data sharing between the two countries and identifies a common electronic mechanism in order to accredit the Indonesian recruitment agencies and the Saudi recruitment offices and companies. The two sides also agreed to activate relevant procedures and establish a labor attaché office, in Jakarta in addition to exchange experiences between the two countries.
