To mark the historic visit the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud is currently embarked on in Russia, Dr. Awwad bin Saleh Al-Awwad, the minister of culture and information of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, opened the Saudi Cultural Week in Moscow today in the presence of Russia's minister of culture Vladimir Midneski, the Saudi media delegation covering the visit and a group of visitors waiting for the ribbon-cut ceremony. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Al-Awwad welcomed his Russian counterpart. The Saudi minister described the monarch's visit to Russia as historical, citing that it is the first for a Saudi king to the Russian Federation. He cast light on the flourishing future of relations between the two countries, and the Kingdom's vision 2030 which laid new pillars for the Saudi culture, citing the arts, literature, theater and cinema. He gave an account on the contents of his ministry's exhibition. He disclosed that Russia was proclaimed guest of honor of Riyadh international book fair in March 2018 to be held in Riyadh. For his part, the Russian minister expressed pleasure to host the Saudi cultural event, wishing it every success.
