President Abdrabbou Mansour Hadi of Yemen met in New York today with British secretary of state for middle East affairs Alistair Burt on the fringes of the UN General Assembly's 72nd session. During the meeting, President Hadi lauded the positions of the world community supportive to Yemen and its legitimate leadership to end the coup, citing the UN efforts, led by its special representative to Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed, to end the political crisis on the bases of the three references: the GCC initiative and its executive mechanism, the outcomes of the comprehensive political dialogue and UN security council resolution No.2216. They reviewed the issues on the agenda of the UN general assembly. Also, they reviewed the latest political, economic and humanitarian situations in Yemen. For his part, the British senior official reiterated his country's support for Yemen and its legitimate leadership to reach peace which the Yemeni people deserve and is based on the international legitimacy resolutions, topped by the resolution No. 2216.
