Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Adel Al-Jubeir, currently on a visit to Italy, affirmed that solving the crisis with Qatar should be within the framework of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for Arab States, expressing hope that the voice of wisdom in Qatar will prevail, so that the region to be in a better position than it is now. Speaking at a joint press conference with Italian Foreign Minister Angelino Alfano in Rome yesterday, on Friday after their bilateral talks, the Minister Al-Jubeir said: "We talked about the situation with Qatar and explained to Minister Alfano the decisions taken by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Arab Republic of Egypt against Qatar due to the Qatari support and finance of terrorism, harboring terrorists, incitement, spreading hatred and interfere in other countries' internal affairs. We provided our Qatari brothers with a set of demands that fall within these principles and we hope that the wisdom in Qatar will prevail and respond positively to these demands so that we can put an end to this page and go ahead. We will wait until the desired change to be occurred," He added: "There should be no tolerance for extremism and terrorism, and we must find solutions to these problems, noting that there are many other things in the region that we should be interested in. We are determined to continue to see the Kingdom's Vision 2030 and develop our economy and standard of living. Dealing with terrorism and extremism complicates this process, adding that there is agreement to work with our partners and allies in Italy to defeat this scourge," Al-Jubeir also stressed that the four countries have taken this step not with the aim of harming Qatar, but on the contrary, it did so with pain. --More 14:49 LOCAL TIME 11:49 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/1650046
