German unemployment fell in June, as the arrival of summer marked a pickup in hiring in Europe's biggest economy, bringing the jobless rate down to 5.5 per cent. According to dpa, jobless queues in the nation contracted for the ninth consecutive month in June, declining by 25,000 to 2.473 million, the Federal Labour Agency said. In seasonally adjusted terms, the number of unemployed people rose by 7,000 to 2.547 million.
