The General Secretariat of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has strongly condemned the attack, that led to killing at least one person and injured others when a van ploughed into Muslim worshipers as they were leaving a Mosque in London after prayers. The Secretariat confirmed that the incident reflected the rise of Islamophobia in Europe, especially after the recent terrorist attacks which had raised concern for a potential backlash against Muslim communities, noting that the targeting of worshipers of any faith was an attack on the shared values of tolerance and communality. The General Secretariat expressed its solidarity with the Muslim communities affected by this heinous act and offered its condolences to the families of the victims and to the people and Government of the United Kingdom and urged the authorities to bring the criminals to justice.
