U.S. Secretary of State President Rex Tillerson called on Qatar to do more to stop funding terrorism and expel terrorists from its country as quickly as possible. In a press release, Tillerson said that three weeks ago, the President has joined the GCC leaders in a strong demonstration of partnership, rejection of extremism and defeat of terrorism in all its kinds in the region and throughout the world. He added that the United States would like to reiterate confirmation of its commitment to the spirit which prevailed the summit, in reference to the Arab Islamic American summit. The U.S. Secretary of State asserted that combating extremism requires a regional and international consensus and mutual understanding as the GCC summit has created a platform to achieve this congruence and understanding. We call on Qatar to respond to the issues of concern to its neighbors given its history of supporting different political groups and violent activists. He added that others ought to continue wiping out the segments who support violence, noting that this is a matter of commitment of all who took part in the Arab Islamic American summit.
