A Pakistani security official was killed in an armed attack by unknown assailants today in Quetta, the capital of Pakistan's southwestern Baluchistan province, official reports said. Police sources said unidentified gunmen opened fire on security official Abdul Rahman Jann, wounding him and one of his companions. The sources added that Abdul Rahman Jann died hours after he was taken to hospital, while the gunmen managed to escape from the site, and no one claimed responsibility. Pakistani media reported that Abdul Rahman Jan was pursuing terrorism-related cases.
