As many as 45 ships of different nationalities crossed the Suez Canal today from both directions, with a total payload of 2,800,000 tons. According to navigation statistics issued by the Suez Canal Authority, the South-heading convoy included 22 ships, with a payload of 1.2 million tons, while the 23-ship opposite-direction convoy was laden with 1.6 million tons.
