President of Guinea-Bissau Jose Mario Vaz, currently on a visit to the Kingdom, received at his guest residence in Jeddah today the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen. During the meeting, bilateral relations between the west African country and the OIC and means to promote them, in all fields, particularly the economic and developmental fields as well as the political and security situations in west Africa and the efforts being exerted by OIC to combat terrorism and extremism were discussed. The two sides also reviewed the arrangements done to hold the science and technology summit scheduled for Kazakhstan in September 2017. To this end, the OIC secretary general invited the president to attend the event. For his part, the president thanked Al-Othaimeen for the efforts the OIC are exerting to enhance security, stability and development in a number of member states in Africa, in general and Guinea-Bissau in particular.
