The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Dr. Yousef bin Ahmad Al-Othaimeen received here yesterday Special Envoy of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the OIC Bagdad Amreyev. During the meeting, the Secretary General and the Kazakhstan Special Envoy reviewed the ongoing preparations for the upcoming Summit on Science and Technology scheduled for September 2017 in Astana, Kazakhstan. The two sides emphasized the importance of the development of science and technology in the OIC countries. The Secretary General and Amreyev also reviewed bilateral relations between the OIC and Kazakhstan on wide range of issues of mutual interest, underscoring the important role of OIC in promoting the developmental agendas and ensuring successful peaceful resolution of crises in OIC Member States, including combatting terrorism and violent extremism.
