The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) renewed its strong commitment to stand with Yemen's unity, sovereignty, political independence and territorial integrity and solidarity with the Yemeni people in their aspiration for freedom, democracy, social justice and comprehensive development. Secretary-General of the Organization Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen stressed that the organization is committed to supporting the legitimate government in Yemen in line with the resolutions of the Islamic Summit and the resolutions of the Council of Foreign Ministers. He called on all Yemeni parties to stand with legitimacy and reject the calls of the division through effective response to international initiatives aimed at reaching a compromise solution to the Yemeni crisis based on the relevant Security Council resolutions and the Gulf initiative and its executive mechanisms and the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference. He explained that any unilateral action and outside the scope of legitimacy will lead to further fragmentation and disintegration within the one Yemeni entity, and works to prolong the conflict in all its dimensions. He also referred to the continued coordination of the efforts of the member states in supporting Yemen through the work of the Yemen Contact Group and the continuous consultation with international and regional organizations, particularly the United Nations, the League of Arab States and the Gulf Cooperation Council, with the aim of reaching a political solution to the Yemeni crisis, supporting the legitimate government and its authorities and providing humanitarian and development aid.
