The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Dr. Yousef bin Ahmad Al-Othaimeen received Deputy Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Gayrat Fazilov and Undersecretary of Foreign Ministry of Bangladesh Shahidul Haque in Jeddah, where the officials are heading their respective delegations to the Senior Officials Meeting (SOM) from 30 April to 2 May 2017. Deputy Minister Fazilov briefed the Secretary General on the activities initiated by the Republic of Uzbekistan as the Chair of the 43rd session of the Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM). The Secretary General commended the role of Uzbekistan as the CFM for taking various initiatives towards the betterment of the Muslim Ummah and the two officials agreed to discuss bilateral cooperation further. Undersecretary Haque also commended Dr. Al-Othaimeen for the OIC's active role in various issues related to the Islamic World. The discussions focused on OIC-Bangladesh bilateral issues and they discussed the upcoming visit of the Secretary General to attend the 45th CFM in Bangladesh.
