Ivory Coast President Alassane Ouattara met here Saturday with Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Dr. Yusuf bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen. Talks during the meeting dealt with issues and challenges facing the Muslim world, particularly the Palestine Cause and Al Quds along with the phenomena of terrorism and extremism. The two sides stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation between the IOC member states for the development of a common Islamic approach to ensure effective engagement with existing and emerging challenges. The meeting also dealt with the ongoing preparations for the 44th Session of the Council due to be held in Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire, in June 2017. The OIC Secretary-General also held a working session with the Foreign Minister of Cote d'Ivoire, Marcel Amon-Tanoh.
