Media spokesman of Makkah Police Colonel Aati Al-Qurashi stated that, at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday 8/6/1438H during duty patrol, a usual security operation, the security authorities observed at Jeddah Corniche a number of motorcyclists provoking chaos, disturbing public peace and endangering the safety of people there. While dealing with the situation, motorcyclists assaulted one of the security men and intentionally drove over him; they also assaulted a private security guard when he tried to help the security man. Then, they fled the scene. In a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Colonel Aati Al-Qurashi added that the two security men were injured and transferred to the hospital for treatment. He added that the security authorities immediately started a research which resulted in arresting five persons out of the seven who participated in the assault. They are: 1. Sedeeq Majid Sedeeq Al-Rashidi (Saudi nationality, 18 years old), national identification no. (1108591973) who deliberately used his motorcycle over the security man. 2. Hussain Mohammed Abdulkarim ( Chadian nationality, 25 years old); has no identification card. 3. Hassan Ali Musa (Chadian nationality, 20 years old) has no identification card. 4. Haroun Adam Kubar (Nigerian nationality, 20 years old), expatriate identification card no. (2336487308) 5. Yagoub Ahmad Mohammed Abdulfattah (Yemeni nationality, 28 years old), holds a visiting card (Iqama) no. (4145498020). They confessed to having been involved, and named the missing other two; namely: 1-Wajdi Nassir Ali Basabrin (Yemeni nationality, 24 years old) who violates residential regulations. 2- Akram Broufa (Chadian nationality, 20 years old) who violates residential regulations. The Media spokesman of Makkah Police Colonel Aati Al-Qurashi stressed that the security authorities will not allow nor will take lightly any act or practice likely to disturb public peace, threaten the safety of people or create chaos. Al-Qurashi called upon the wanted people to surrender themselves, warning of harboring them or dealing with them. He urged anyone with information about the fugitives to call (911).
