Saudi Minister of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources Eng. Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Faleh extended thanks to and appreciation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for attending the signing ceremony of an agreement of purchasing 50% of Project of Refinery and Petrochemical Integrated Development (RAPID) Integrated Pengerang Complex with Malaysian National Oil and Gas Company (Petronas). "This agreement came within the keenness of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques on concluding and diversifying strategic partnerships between Saudi Aramco and the international companies, particularly with the states of the Islamic world," he said. During a joint press conference with Abdul Rahman Dahlan, the Minister at the Office of Malaysian Prime Minister, Eng. Al-Faleh stressed that following professional work and long negotiations, the Saudi Aramco was enabled to reach an agreement for a stake purchasing of Project of Refinery and Petrochemical Integrated Development (RAPID) Integrated Pengerang Complex with Malaysian National Oil and Gas Company (Petronas). Al-Faleh stressed that this agreement is very important and in the right direction to expand the work of Saudi Aramco in the world's markets, particularly in the Far East. He disclosed that the complex is an integrated refinery that will have considerable profitable benefits in the short and long terms, pointing that this agreement will enhance the value of Saudi Aramco in all the world markets and give it an important competitive advantage by targeting the markets of developing and important markets in the Southeast Asia in particular. --More
