Jeddah-based Organization of Islamic Cooperation called today for addressing all kinds of extreme radical speech, through education, media and social networks, in order to delegitimize the violence committed in the name of religion, or ideology, or claim of cultural superiority, stressing that discrimination and hatred do not represent a threat to Muslims only but also to the principles of justice, equality and freedom and harmony. This leads to the need to combat all forms of discrimination and hatred, especially those based on religion or belief, through the application of international standards to provide equal protection for all target groups and religions all over the world, OIC added. This came during the Forum to Combat Discrimination against Muslims, which ended its work yesterday at the United Nations in New York headquarters with the participation of the Permanent Observer Mission of the OIC to the United Nations as well as the Permanent Missions to Canada, United States and the European Union.
