A preparatory meeting of the sixth session of the Iraqi-Kuwaiti ministerial committee started in Baghdad on Tuesday. The meeting was co-chaired by Kuwait's Deputy Foreign Minister Khaled Suleiman Al-Jarallah and Undersecretary of the Iraqi Foreign Ministry Omar Al-Barzangi, with several officials of both sides attending. At the onset of the meeting, Al-Barzangi appreciated Kuwait's humanitarian aid and help in quenching oilfield fire, as well as its agreement to delay Iraqi compensations. "The Iraqi people will never forget those who stood side by side with them under such circumstances," the Iraqi official said. On his part, Al-Jarallah said Kuwait attaches much significance to the joint committee which constitutes a solid foundation for better relations between both countries, especially as the committee looks into all details that concern both countries.
