The head of the Saudi delegation participating in the workings of the 29th Session of the UN Economic and Social Committee for the Western, President of the General Authority of Statistics Dr. Fahd bin Suleiman Al-Tikhaifi said that the Arab region is facing multiple challenges to the implementation of the "objectives of sustainable development agenda 2030 Plan" approved by world leaders, a year ago, including the political, economic and social challenges and development, most notably the statistical challenges related to the construction of indicators that measure the progress of the goals' implementation (17) and the red zone (240), according to the latest update, in May of the current year 2016. He explained, following the conclusion of the session, that the most important factors that help in the implementation of the sustainable development plan; the state's ability to develop its development plans to blend and merge with the global plans provided they do not violate the provisions of the Shari'a, as well as options and solutions that suit us in the Kingdom, noting that the Kingdom has worked on two tracks to implement the 2030 goals of sustainable development plan, approved by the United Nations.
