Kuwaiti Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah said Thursday the visit by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to Kuwait later today is of paramount significance. Speaking to KUNA on the visit, Sheikh Salman Al-Humoud, who doubles as Chairman of the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL), said this historic visit is deemed a summit meeting between two wise Arab leaders. He added that the Kuwaiti Ministry of Information and the NCCAL have worked out a distinct cultural ceremony at Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Center on Friday in order to welcome the Saudi Monarch's visit to the State of Kuwait. He added that Kuwait has already been decorated with Kuwaiti and Saudi flags as a sign of warm welcome to the historic visit which is the first of its kind by the Saudi leader since he ascended the throne in January 2015. The Kuwaiti Minister noted that this warm welcome reflected the fact that the Kuwaiti leadership, government and people hold the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its king Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud in high esteem. It also reflected the close and firm historical relationship between the State of Kuwait and the Kingdom, he said, pointing to the Kingdom's unforgotten position during the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait on August 2, 1990, and its great support to the liberation and subsequent reconstruction efforts. Sheikh Salman Al-Humoud highly appreciated and commended the Kingdom's relentless backing to justice and peace across the world just out of strong belief in firm principles and values. The Kuwaiti minister also lauded unprecedented accomplishments made in Saudi Arabia in all development domains and efforts aiming at achieving public welfare.
