The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia expressed concern about the large fiscal deficit suffered by United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) saying that the deficit threatens UNRWA's ability to meet the basic needs of the Palestinian refugees, especially in the field of education and health, in light of the continuing human suffering of refugees. The kingdom renewed its call for the international community to support UNRWA's requirements and increase financial contributions and donations for the agency to be able to bridge the current deficit and to be able to fund its the growing service programs in the light of the continuing Israeli aggression. This came in the kingdom's speech on Monday before the General Assembly committee devoted to the announcement of voluntary contributions to UNRWA. The speech was delivered by Permanent Representative of the kingdom to the United Nations Ambassador Abdullah bin Yahya Almoalimi. --More
