Germany's annual inflation rate held steady at its highest rate in more than two years in November as a jump in food prices helped to offset a renewed slump in energy costs, data released on Tuesday showed. According to dpa, Annual consumer prices in Europe's biggest economy came in at 0.8 per cent in November - unchanged from October, the Federal Statistics Office (Destatis) said in releasing preliminary figures. German inflation stands at its highest rate since October 2014. While food prices jumped 1.2 per cent in November compared with the same month last year, energy costs fell by 2.7 per cent after dropping by 1.4 per cent in October. Food prices stagnated in October, Destatis said.
