Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al-Shiekh, Speaker of the Shura Council of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, confirmed that the Determination Storm launched by the Arab Coalition in support of legitimate rule in Yemen, conforms with the regional and international treaties, namely Article 51 of the United Nations charter, as it was a response to a distress from Yemen's legitimate president Abdrabbou Mansour Hadi to the leaders of the GCC countries to come to the salvage of his country from a coup staged by Houthis militias and forces loyal to deposed president Ali Abdullah Saleh. Addressing the opening of the 10th session of the GCC Shura, representatives, and national councils and assemblies conference which started in Manama today, Al Al-Shiekh reminded that the GCC countries have exerted strenuous efforts to defuse the Yemeni political crisis since its eruption six years ago, culminated by the adoption of the GCC initiative as a solution approved by all parties to the crisis in Yemen in what was known as the Peace and National Partnership Arrangement reached in the month of Zulqaeda of 1435 H. However, the Houthi militias and forces loyal to deposed president Ali Saleh, who both were key parties of the arrangement, rescinded their decision and, instead, usurped power in Sanaa, the capital. Despite the fact that war is still raging, the GCC countries believe that peace should prevail in Yemen through the same references agreed upon before war flared up, he said, citing the GCC initiative and its executive mechanism, the outcomes of the national dialogue in Yemen and the UN Yemen-war-related resolutions, particularly the resolution No.2216
