The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud chaired the Cabinet's session at Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh on Monday afternoon. At the outset of the session, the members of the Cabinet expressed their condolences to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the royal family on the death of Prince Turki bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and his sons. The King expressed his thanks and appreciation to the leaders and envoys of a number of sisterly and friendly countries, princes, scholars, senior officials and citizens who offered their condolences on the death of Prince Turki bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques briefed the Cabinet on the phone call he made to President-elect Donald Trump on winning the presidential elections in the United States of America during which the King expressed the Kingdom's looking forward to enhancing historical and strategic relations with the United States of America and working together to achieve peace and stability in the Middle East and the world, also briefing the Cabinet on the results of his meeting and talks with the Chairman of United States Joint Chiefs of Staff General Joseph Dunford during which they discussed aspects of bilateral cooperation between the two countries and recent developments in the region. The Cabinet valued the statement issued by the first meeting of the Commission of Economic Affairs and Development of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for Arab States for its appreciation of the decision of the leaders of the Council, which emanated from the vision of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to establish the Commission aiming to enhance the joint Gulf action, and the steps set by representatives of countries of the Council that accompany this ambitious trend and basic priorities of concern and immediate follow-up. The Minister of State, Cabinet's Member and Acting Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Essam bin Saad bin Said said in a statement to Saudi Press Agency following the session that the Cabinet stressed what was proposed by Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Second Deputy Premier, Minister of defense, and Chairman of the Council of Economic Affairs and Development during his speech before the first meeting of the Commission of Economic Affairs and Development of the Gulf Cooperation Council in Riyadh that the GCC countries need to be a bloc in the age of blocs, they have an opportunity to be the sixth biggest economy in the world if they work properly in coming years, and they should take advantage of opportunities in the era of economic fluctuations. --More
