Canadian Foreign Minister Stephane Dion met here yesterday with Dr. Bandar bin Mohammed Al-Aiban, President of the Human Rights Commission. During the meeting, they discussed issues binding the two countries and issues of common interest. They also reviewed bilateral cooperation, particularly in the field of human rights. The Canadian foreign minister has lauded distinct relations between the two friendly countries in the field of human rights. For his part, Dr. Al-Aiban highlighted the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's efforts under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud in supporting the human rights' issues at all levels in addition to the Kingdom's support for the fair issues. He also pointed out the achievements and developments witnessed by the Kingdom in accordance with the Kingdom Vision 2030. Following the meeting, Dr. Al-Aiban attended a roundtable meeting held by the Canadian foreign minister with presence of prominent Canadian and international community institutions and a number of members of the Canadian Parliament.
