Jordan has strongly condemned Yemen's Houthi rebels for targeting Makkah with a ballistic missile, which was intercepted by Arab Coalition Forces 65-km south of the holy city. Jordanian Government Spokesman Mohammed Al-Momani said that such heinous acts do not serve the Yemeni cause, nor the Arab and Muslim causes. They, however, provoke the feelings of Muslims around the globe. Any attack against holy places would expand the cycle of violence, Al-Momani said, while reiterating calls to adhere to legitimacy and restore security to Yemen. Jordan considers the security of the GCC-states as an integral part of its security, Al-Momani said, adding that the attack would undermine efforts to achieve truce and realize peace in Yemen.
