Moroccan King Mohammed VI said today that he is expecting the Mediterranean region to emerge as among the most affected of global warming which will throw shadows on natural resources and great economic sectors, including agriculture, fishing, tourism, industry and energy production. In a message to the participants in the Parties of the Mediterranean 2nd Conference on Climate being held in Tanja, Morocco, and lasts for two days, the monarch said the Mediterranean space is rich of its diversified culture, exchanges and transaction, making it a viable force to face climate changes and obtain tolerance and adaptation abilities. He drew attention to the importance of creating an expert group to cope with comprehensive changes in the Mediterranean region and launch an Mediterranean body to compensate for curbing carbon emissions, and develop a special credit fund for the protectorate maritime zones to make the Mediterranean area a model in the field of building new consume-produce pattern and the field of confronting climate changes and achieving sustainable development.
