Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of topics and issues at local, regional and international arenas. Al-Sharq, Al-Riyadh, Al-Youm and Okaz newspapers commented on the 16th consultative meeting of the leaders of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for Arab States, saying that the Council's formation of a high-level Gulf economic and developmental body enhances its efforts to achieve economic integration among the GCC countries which represent the largest source of security and stability in the region. The papers noted that the Gulf bloc has proved since the beginning of the wave of Arab unrest its ability to formulate political understandings and manage the political scene in the region, which made it win a great value and turned it from an active regional to international player, as nations recognizing the affairs of the region depend on the Council and its ability to resolve regional issues that affect the international arena. --More
