Pakistan Ulama Council urged Iran to desist from provoking unrest in the ranks of the Islamic nation by intervening in the affairs of Islamic countries, supporting terrorist organizations in Syria and Yemen and seeking to politicize Hajj. In a statement issued today by the Council's headquarters in the city of Lahore, the Chairman of Pakistan Ulama Council Sheikh Tahir Mahmoud Al-Ashrafi said that the Iranian plots have been exposed to everyone, noting that Iran is supporting terrorist militias in Syria and Huthi rebel militias in Yemen, in addition to Iranian interventions in other Islamic countries with the aim of supporting extremism and sectarianism. He pointed out that Iran has always sought to stir up unrest in the ranks of the Islamic nation to undermine its unity. He also urged Iran to review its rejected position on interference in Hajj arrangements and called on Tehran to reach an understanding with the Saudi authorities on the conditions guaranteeing performance of this year's Hajj for Iranian pilgrims. He stressed that the Islamic nation supports the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's sovereign right in organizing Hajj arrangements and trusts the kingdom's Hajj known arrangements which have been carried out by the Saudi authorities for decades with ease. Sheikh al-Ashrafi added that Iran should refrain from politicizing the pilgrimage worship, respect the laws and regulations in this regard. He called on the Islamic nation to stand by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and support the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud's decisions that serve the interests of the Islamic nation and aim to unite and strengthen its ranks.
