King Abdulaziz University on Wednesday evening awarded Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud an honorary doctorate degree in the field of promotion of Islamic unity for his efforts to serve Islam and Muslims. In a statement to Saudi Press Agency after chairing the 5th session of the Council of King Abdulaziz University for the academic year 1436/1437 AH, Minister of Education and President of King Abdulaziz University's council, Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Issa said that King Salman is keen to strengthen the unity of the Islamic world according to three main foundations: strengthening the unity of the Islamic nation and supporting its issues; backing humanitarian and charity work around the world; and taking care of Islamic civilization and heritage. He noted that many countries awarded the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques a lot of medals, awards and honorary certificates in recognition of his efforts and contributions to many fields.
