Kuwait and Vietnam on Friday signed a number of agreements and MoUs to bolster bilateral cooperation, during the ongoing visit by the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah to the Southeast Asian country. Deputy Foreign Minister Khalid Suleiman Al-Jarallah and Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Khanh Hai inked an agreement to enhance cultural and artistic ties. The two officials also signed a MoU for cooperation in sports. Vice Chairman of the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) signed a cooperation agreement with Chairman of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry Dr. Vu Tien Loc. Then a framework agreement to expand Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemicals Project, jointly operated by Kuwait, Vietnam, and Japan, was also signed by Kuwait Petroleum International (KPI) CEO Bakheet Al-Rashidi and General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Chairman of Petrovietnam Nguyen Phu Trong. The signing ceremony followed official talks between the Premier and Vietnamese counterpart Nguyen Xuan Phuc earlier today. Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak and an accompanying delegation arrived in Hanoi on Thursday form Dhaka after a visit to Bangladesh. The Prime Minister is on a four-leg Asian tour that also includes South Korea and Japan, KUNA reported.
