Yemeni President Abdrabbou Mansour Hadi received here today Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council. The Yemeni news agency, which carried the news, said the political situations in Yemen and the Yemeni-GCC relations within integration between Yemen and the GCC states were discussed. Hadi said his government has gone to Kuwait with a sincere will aiming to spare blood of Yemeni people and evade more suffering, but this would require undertaking the implementation of the international legitimacy, including the resolution No. 2216, completion of the GCC initiative and implementing the outcomes of the national dialogue. He confirmed the importance of confidence-building through consolidating the ceasefire, withdrawal from cities, release of detainees from rebels jails. For his part, Dr. Al-Zayani said the meeting comes as part of coordination and cooperation with the Yemeni legitimate leadership to enhance peace chances based on the references of the UN resolutions, GCC initiative and national dialogue outcomes. He confirmed the support of the GCC countries for Yemen and its legitimate leadership to reach peace and return of a strong and stable Yemen as influential part of its surrounding Arab and GCC neighbors.
