United Nations' human rights experts condemned here today the Iranian authorities for denying prisoners to receive medical care and treatment, including exposing them to the risk of death, after the deterioration of their health because of the conditions of detention, in Iranian prisons. UN experts warned, in a statement on the existence of prisoners of conscience, in Iran, that they are suffering serious health problems exacerbated by the continued detention and frequent refusal of the Iranian authorities d to allow them access to medical facilities and to receive necessary treatment promptly, asserted that the denial of health care and incarceration of people, in overcrowded prisons and maltreatment display prisoners serious injuries and death. The experts called on Iran to honor its international obligations and respect prisoners' right to health care and medical treatment.
