The Gul Cooperation Council Interconnection Authority (GCCIA) held here today 15th Regular General Assembly in Oman with presence of GCC representatives of the authority. Dr. Mater Hamid Al-Naiadi, Chairman of the assembly, GCCIA Head and Undersecretary of the UAE Energy Ministry, chaired the meeting. Dr. Al-Naiadi highlighted efforts exerted by the authority in order to maintain continuous flow of electricity in the GCC network and raise level of reliability and safety of the GCC electrical systems. During the meeting, the authority aims to discuss issues pertaining to the field of electricity among the GCC states. The Gul Cooperation Council Interconnection Authority (GCCIA) is inspired by the principles and goals of the GCC and having the desire to realize that more cooperation and fostering the links between them in the areas of trade and services in power the formation of the Authority has been agreed upon. The GCC Interconnection Authority (GCCIA) is a joint stock company subscribed by the six GCC States, whose Articles of Association and By-Laws were approved by Royal Decree No. M/21 on July 29, 2001.
