Migrants in Germany that refuse government integration offers to learn German and find work will be faced with sanctions, German Interior Minister Thomas de Maiziere said Saturday according to media reports. De Maiziere added he aimed to link the "successful completion of integration with the length of time a person can stay in Germany." The minister said he would propose new integration law by May to update the current legal situation. Germany already imposes strict rules on migrants who receive unlimited residency and work permits. De Maiziere said the legal changes would also include limitations on migrants' place of residence to avoid "the development of ghettos." Migrants will be made to live "where we as the state see as appropriate, and not where the migrant sees as appropriate." Germany has seen a net migration influx of 1.1 million people in 2015 - the largest influx since World War II.
