Napoli beat Chievo, clinch top spot moving past Juve
Published in Saudi Press Agency on 05 - 03 - 2016

Napoli rallied to beat visiting Chievo 3-1 Saturday and go top on goal difference past Juventus in the Italian Serie A.
Gonzalo Higuain, Vlad Chiriches and Jose Callejon were on target to reverse an early opener from Nicola Rigoni, pushing Napoli on 61 points from 28 games.
Champions Juventus look to regain the lead away to Atalanta Sunday as Roma sit third on 56 after beating fourth-place Fiorentina (53) 4-1 Friday and Chievo are 10th on 34.
The Neapolitans were stunned at the San Paolo after less than two minutes from a Rigoni firm shot after dispossessing Chiriches, who filled in for the suspended Raul Albiol.
The Romanian defender made amends in the 38th minute, nodding home a cross from Jorginho after Higuain's equalizer on six minutes.
The Argentine league top striker deflected home as Faouzi Ghoulam squared from the left for a tally of 26 goals and missed three other chances before the break as David Lopez, Jose Callejon, Lorenzo Insigne, Marek Hamsik and Ghoulam also came close.
Chievo threatened two minutes into the second half as Lucas Castro nodded wide and Insigne curled over before Callejon flicked home off substitute Allan in the 70th minute.
Goalkeeper Albano Bizzarri on 66 had managed to deflect against the bar a firm drive from Higuain, but was helpless on Callejon's shot and saw another Higuain effort roll wide on 79.
Earlier action saw Sampdoria win 3-0 at bottom side Verona to move in 13th place on 31 points, eight clear of the three-team drop zone. Verona are last on 18, 10 points from safety.
Samp striker Fabio Quagliarella had a hand in both early goals from captain Roberto Soriano and veteran Antonio Cassano on six and 11 minutes.
Soriano tapped in after Quagliarella's effort had been saved and Pierluigi Gollini deflected the striker's next shot onto the bar before Cassano's simple flick into the goal.
Quagliarella also crossed for a scoring volley from former Verona midfielder Lazaros Christodoulopoulos on the half hour and fired wide on 37 and 43, while home veteran Luca Toni missed from close range on 53.
