Tottenham had top spot in the Premier League snatched away from them on Saturday as they were held to a 2-2 draw by 10-man Arsenal. Alexis Sanchez snatched a point with the equalizer for Arsenal 14 minutes from time after Tottenham had come from a goal down to lead 2-1 following the sending-off of Francis Coquelin. The result left Spurs still second, two points behind leaders Leicester, who play at Watford later on Saturday, while Arsenal stay third, five points off the pace. Manchester City closed to within two points of Arsenal after hammering bottom side Aston Villa 4-0 while Bournemouth look almost safe after winning 3-1 at second-bottom Newcastle. Arsenal had the game in their hands when they led 1-0 through a brilliant first-half flick by Aaron Ramsey. But the sending-off of Coquelin on 54 minutes, for a second yellow card, changed the game. Within eight minutes, Spurs were in front; Toby Alderweireld equalizing with a fine left-foot strike and then Harry Kane curled a stunning effort that went in off the post. Arsenal continued to battle, though, and Sanchez grabbed a point with a shot that bounced over the hand of Hugo Lloris. Both sides had half-chances to win it in the remaining minutes but defences held firm. West Ham came from 2-0 down with 12 minutes to go to win 3-2 at 10-man Everton and move above Manchester United into fifth. Sunderland are one point clear of the drop zone after a 1-1 draw at 10-man Southampton, who snatched a late equalizer. Norwich remain third-bottom after losing 1-0 at Swansea while champions Chelsea were held to a 1-1 draw by Stoke in the day's other match.
