Secretary General of the Muslim World League and the President of the Islamic Universities League Dr. Abdullah bin Abdul Mohsen Al-Turki stressed the importance of his current visit to Egypt in supporting joint Islamic action and discussing many issues and contemporary problems including ways of dealing with terrorism and extremism. This came in remarks he made on Wednesday on the sidelines of the International Conference on "The Role of Media to Combat Terrorism", organized by the Islamic Universities League in collaboration with the University of Assiut. Dr. Al-Turki explained that the aim of his current visit to Egypt is to chair the meeting of the Executive Council of the Islamic Universities League, noting that his Egypt's visit comes at the start of an African tour that also includes Nigeria, Mauritania and Senegal. Al-Turki highlighted the role played by the Muslim World League to unite Muslim scholars and clarify their responsibility to unite the Islamic nation and warn Muslims of the risks and dangers they face, as well as showing the true face of Islam and working to fortify Muslim communities against the threat of terrorism, violence and sectarianism.
