President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz received here yesterday Secretary General of the Muslim World League Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Abdul Mohsen Al-Turki. During the reception, the Mauritanian President stressed the strength of the fraternal relationship between the Islamic Republic of Mauritania and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, hailing the great efforts exerted by the kingdom under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to unite Muslim ranks and to fight against terrorism and extremism of all forms. The Mauritanian president emphasized the importance of the international scientific conference on the "Role of Sunni Scholars in Fighting Terrorism and Extremism," which is organized by Muslim World League in collaboration with the Mauritanian Ministry of Islamic Affairs and Original Education, to increase awareness of the dangers of terrorism and extremism and clarify the true image of Islam and its principles of tolerance. For his part, Dr. Al-Turki thanked President of Mauritania for his patronage of the conference and reiterated that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques focuses on various occasions on the unity of the Islamic world. The reception was attended by Saudi Ambassador to Mauritania Dr. Hazza Al-Mutairi and Mauritanian Minister of Islamic Affairs and Original Education Ahmed Ould Ehil Daoud.
