Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas. Al-Riyadh newspaper said that President Vladimir Putin has made two telephone calls to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the first one two weeks ago marking the 90th anniversary of relations between the two countries and the second one came hours before the start of the truce in Syria, noting that the Kingdom does not want that Syria continues to be the victim of bickering of major countries or an arena for settling accounts among them; therefore Riyadh hopes that Moscow contributes to the restoration of Syria to its natural Arab lap based on respect for its pluralism and diversity. Okaz and Al-Youm newspapers commented on Syria, saying that it is a grave mistake that Russia thinks of dividing Syria to which the enemies of either Hezbollah or Iranian Basij came and divided and converted it to a sectarian state.
