The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) has voiced total support for a recent Saudi decision to review relations with Lebanon and to suspend aid to its army and internal security service. GCC Secretary General Dr. Abdullatif Al-Zayani said in a press release that the GCC member states back the decision of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia which came in response to Lebanon's official positions that contradict Arab consensus and do not match Gulf-Lebanese relations. He voiced regret that the Lebanese decision has been subject to the interests of regional and external powers and contradicts Arab national security and interest. However, the GCC chief hoped that Lebanon would reconsider its stances and policies that run counter to Arab integration and cooperation.
